Stormcutter is not fast or have much of an element of surprise with their big show off-y look and they do not have a firepower that allow them to make a sharp shot. Stoker relying on their fire, Strike relying on the mix of their speed/element of surprise and maybe their shots, Boulder relying on their brute strength(some aren’t but they have earth attribute to justify it), Mystery rely on whatever gimmick they have(except for buffalord but im going back to it in a sec) And Sharp relying on their physical attack that are sharp, either claws or spikes. Because a lot of dragons breath fire and has sharp spikes but that doesn’t immediatally put them in Stoker or Sharp. Other thought I have is to think about this base on how the dragons fight. i do understand why they wont immediatally put them in there either. So while I won’t be objecting the idea of them being in Stoker. this is overshadowed by stormcutter’s other attribute. It’s even being explore in the delete scene not to mention Stormcutter has a weirdly very powerful fire that not many has talk about. A lot of Stoker class dragon are like this actually and Stormcutter fit in this far too well. Like if they dont have any other standout quality and they do shoot fire, might as well put in in Stoker. Stoker are also kind of the class you put dragon in if they don’t have any other stand out attribute but their fire, take hobblegrunt who is in this rather than mystery for example or silver phantom and a lot other dragons here. Man if only they add that in just like how they just suddenly add that in to a nadder for plot device (yeah im still hung up on that) and for that Stormcutter would fit right in…….except for the fact that Stormcutter doesn’t have any tracking attribute. and apart for theat they rely on physical fight with their body or claws. Like they can shot fire (or ice) but that’s not their most stand out quality for sure. This may sounds mean but Tracker are sort of like a normie class apart from the fact they they have excellent tracking skill they don’t have any other stand out element especially with how they fight.

With tracker being introduce in the movie same with stormcutter one would expect them to fit in the class more than Nadder being in tracker (which is still super dumb) or at the very least be in it with nadder and established the bird threme for tracker class (for whatever reason). The three classes I can see them fit in the most are Tracker, Stoker and Sharp. Stormcutter is kinda like this Flying/Normal or Fighting type Pokemon. And the criteria should rely more on the dragon’s physical attribute, behavior, habitat(for tidal case) and ability (and in some case just plain aesthetic) Which is why I think these trait like being intelligent for Strike or being proud and vain for sharp or stubborn for stoker is more of a trait that describe the share similarity the dragons in the group has more that the criteria of putting the dragon in. Same with classes like Tracker class or even Sharp homes a lot of smart cookies. Mystry dragons being a masterful sneaky predator means they gotta be kinda smart. There’re lot of smart dragons from other classes. I generally disagree on intelligence being the key factor to clasify a dragon into classes.
